The History of Argo American

Argo American began serving customers, even before its current name, in the early 1970’s with a vision of offering an unparalleled level of reliability, flexibility, and customer service within the Utility Services, Fleet Maintenance, Airport Equipment, Ground Support, and Freight Forwarding Industry. Over that time, we have formed many long-term collaborative partnerships with our customers requiring creative solutions, on-time service, and proactive communications. Ultimately, we believe our vision has been achieved.

Argo Karallus

1937 - 2020

On May 10, 2020 we lost our beloved founder and former owner, Argo Karallus, aged 83. He is survived by his wife, Janet and his two daughters, Heather and Kiri.

Argo was born in Lithuania, east of Sweden and Denmark. Escaped the region in the beginning of World War II, ending up in the United States as young adult, served the US Military and, many years later, started his legacy as a business man.

He founded Argo American in 1980 and always made sure to provide high quality services in a personal level. To this day, his legacy lives.

Argo’s passing is a great shock to the entire group of professional friends, our overseas customers, and specially our team. We will never forget his knowledge and legacy with this organization, but also, his thoughtfulness, kindness and dedication to his family, friends and business associates.

This tremendous loss has saddened us all and his presence will be greatly missed.
